Strategic Planning

If you were considering to build a house, the first thing you’d do would be to get a plot (plan)  for it according to your budget and  preferences.   Even if you were about to craft a hut in a wild forest, you’d still need a plot.

It goes without saying, that NO WEB-BUSINESS can be effectively set without a PLAN, but still this is an element missing from the vast majority of online ventures.  We all have been there, we all have made this mistake, not knowing where to start from, where to head to, what’s next and what sort of “materials” we’ll need to put together.

I’m not some sort of fancy Internet Marketing Expert or Guru, but being a mother and a housekeeper, I know that it takes a RECIPE and a LIST OF INGREDIENTS to make a cake.

Although most of Web-Marketers know about the value of Strategic Planning as well as the Leverage they can get from Outsourcing, they fail miserably in doing any of the two, ending up wasting more and more money for the next “MAGIC MONEY MAKER” instead of steadily growing their Online Business.

STRATEGIC PLANNING comes first when we have a client’s PROJECT in our hands.  And it should be consisted of TWO phases : ANALYSIS +SYNTHESIS.

1. ANALYSIS should have TWO BRANCHES , inner and outer.  While the WEB-MARKETING Consultant hands a Specific and Detailed Questionnaire to the  Client,  trying to collect the basic elements and facts that depict Business’s current offline and online status- inner analysis-,  she/he performs  Keywords Research Analysis, Competition Research Analysis,  Trends Research Analysis, Target Group’s Online Behavioral Patterns Analysis and all these FOUR branches are parts of outer analysis.

2. SYNTHESIS is what leads to the Final Detailed WEB-MARKETING STUDY/PLAN.  The Synthesis-TREE consists of the following main branches  -you can also call them Main Parameters-  :  Site’s Metrics Goals,  Financial Goals,  Time Goals.   Once the Goals have been set, it’s time to EAT THE ELEPHANT  :)   Eating the elephant is a step-by-step,  procedure and the only monitoring necessary during it, is execution-related.
